...get involved with the Congressional COPD Caucus
Issue statements from your organization in support of the Congressional COPD Caucus. Two press statements can be adapted for release by your organization:
Send a letter of thanks to the four members of Congress who have agreed to co-chair the Caucus.
Adapt this sample letter and send it to other members of Congress to encourage them to join the Caucus.
Visit your Congressional Representatives and your Senators and their staff, both in Washington, DC, and their home districts, to educate them about the Congressional COPD Caucus, COPD, and actions that can be taken to fight this disease. A US COPD Kit is available for you and your colleagues to use when you make your visits. Request a copy by emailing Mr. James Martino or download the press kit (3MB .zip Archive) and adapt it to your organization’s activities and interests.
Contact the Washington, DC-based subcommittee of the US COPD Coalition, chaired by Mr. Gary Ewart, if you would like advice or assistance in working with members of Congress and their staff.
